Traditionally, a builder lays a brick wall (for structure) and then glues or pins foam panels to the outside of the wall (for thermal insulation). A "self-insulating" block combines both steps. The block itself contains EPS beads or a foam core, so once the block is laid, the wall is already fully insulated. It saves immense time, labor, and scaffolding costs.

2. Are the EPS beads inside the block a fire hazard?
